For this final assignment, i was tasked to create an illustration of any kind that included 2 of three elements which are typography, illustration and photography. (I chose typography with illustration)

I began with an initial sketch of my idea.




















































1st I opened a new A4 artboard and added my sketch image into it. Then i traced the 1st shape which is the typography.

















Next i traced the cone. Then a added more cone-detail and color to my design. Note that i also resized it a little to make it bigger.

















Then i traced the little dog on the design.

















I gave it the same color style as the ice cream cone.

















To add more of a whimsical effect, i added falling ice cream i the background and copied and pasted it a few times to increase the numbers. Finally i added a background color. I used the gradient tool to give it a unique look as well as contrasting colors from the typography to make the words more obvious. Note that i also corrected a spelling mistake in the sketch.

For this assignment, i was asked to design a set of fonts or typography for the letters A-Z. I used Adobe illustrator for this assignment.

The 1st step was to sketch out my idea on graph paper before using Illustrator to trace it.

Next, i began to trace all the letters.
















I didn't upload the image into illustrator as i found it unnecessary. I simply used the same grid pattern that was on the graph paper and copied it in Illustrator to create the shape of the word.
















Then i simply made us of the illustrator effects such as blur, inner glow and so on to create a neon light effect on the letter. The black back ground also served to help intensify the neon effect.
























The finished results. The theme i went for was a space-age 1920's cross with the space neon lights and the furls of the 1920's flapper era.

The same steps went in to create all the letters. All letters had a small variation in each design.

I was to compile all the letters in to 1 A4 paper.





































I was also tasked to create a quote that reflected the theme of my typography.
























This is a before and after of my quote art. I removed most of the background stars so that the letters became more obvious.
